Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got you covered!
BUTCHERS
Who does the butchering?
Our small farm supports other small businesses in the surrounding areas. We partner with several USDA-certified local butchers. We rotate our business through 3 different small shops in North Texas.
HOLDS
Can you hold my meat order?
No we cannot hold orders. To deliver fresh meat, we leave our farm at 3 a.m. to meet with the butchers at opening for sorting and verification of orders and deliver to you by the morning of delivery.
PAYMENT PROCESSORS
How does payment work?
Payment is made here on the website. Once your payment is made, your order is locked. You will receive confirmation via email.
ORDERS
How do I place an order?
We notify you via email that the next butcher date is set & set the volume available for order. If you want a whole beef you’ll enter ‘4’ as orders are by quarter.
CONTACT
How do I connect with a live person?
We’re a small mom & pop farm. We love people and to talk with and serve them! However, we are very busy so joining our waitlist is preferred. We always look forward to meeting you in person at delivery!
REFUNDS
Cancellations / Freezer Issues / Refunds
Once orders are placed, refunds are not possible** due to our small size and having already closed orders. Our obligations to our butchers require full orders in order to maintain our low prices.
CUSTOM ORDERS
What if I just want one type of cut?
Custom cut specs are available at approx. $20 / lb with a Whole Beef. This does not mean you can order only steaks. Due to body composition, there will always be some hamburger, some steak, and some roasts.*
PROCESS
What if I don’t want a full quarter?
We have many families who split quarters, halves & whole orders of beef. However, we do not split by order for you. It will be up to you and your friends to determine who gets which cuts.
*An example of a custom request would be if you want NY strip instead of the customary T-Bone steak, or you want your hamburger meat shaped into patties instead of in 1-pound packages.
**If you have to cancel we can donate the meat to a non-profit organization that we work with and help support, House of Mercy Enterprises. You will be able to claim the donation on your taxes, Schedule A of Form 1040.
